The "Proyecto de Conservación Los Chilchos & La Meseta" has been created to protect the rich nature in the Rio Los Chilchos valley and the surrounding areas.

The Peruvian NGO UCUMARI hopes to achieve this by stimulating a sustainable economical development of the local population, in exchange for agreements on the conservation of nature around the villages. On this way we do not only protect nature, but give the local people a fair chance to a better future.
